Q: What are your rates?
A: Visits made in Lake Mills are $16 each for cats or other small animals and $18 each for visits to homes with dogs. This rate includes care for ALL pets in your home and basic house sitting services. Please inquire for rates to all other areas.
Q: What services do you provide during visits?
A: During each visit, I can provide the following services for your pets: Feed your pets according to their normal routine and diet, provide fresh drinking water, administer any needed medications, clean litter boxes and exercise your pet.
Q: What kinds of pets do you sit for?
A: I have sat for cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, fish, snakes, rats, hamsters, gerbils, ducks, guinea pigs, parrots, crabs, turtles, frogs and hobby farm pets such as goats, miniature horses and chickens. I adore all animals and have experience with many types, but if I don't have experience with your specific kind of pet I will let you know and would be more than happy to learn how to care for them.
Q: What are the advantages to using the Pet Nanny?
A:
- Your pets will remain in their own home where all the sights, smells and sounds are familiar
- Your pets will receive lots of love and individual attention from a dependable, experienced, animal lover
- Your pets will maintain their routine feeding and exercising schedules
- Your pets will NOT be traumatized by being transported in a vehicle
- Your pets will NOT risk being exposed to diseases and parasites that can be found in areas that house many animals
- You can arrive home at ANY hour and not have to worry about picking your pets up by a certain time
- You will not need to feel as if you are imposing on a neighbor or family member by asking them to care for your pets
- Additionally, I can make your home appear “lived in” by providing basic house sitting services such as bringing in your mail or newspaper, alternating lights/drapes and watering plants.
Q: Will you take my pets into your own home?
A: No, I only take care of pets in their own homes, where they are comfortable and secure.
Q: What happens at the consultation visit?
A: Once you have decided that visits by the Pet Nanny are right for your pets, I will come to your home for a consultation visit. I will familiarize myself with your pets and home so I will know where to find important items such as food, leashes and litter boxes. I will fill out an information sheet on your pets and require that you sign a contract which allows me to take your pets to the vet on your behalf in case of an emergency. It is at this time I will also pick up a key to your home.
Q: What area do you service?
A: I primarily pet sit in Lake Mills and the surrounding area including Aztalan and Milford. I also service Cambridge and Johnson Creek, based on availability.
Q: How do the Pet Nanny’s prices compare to other options?
A: Compared to boarding your pet, it may at first seem more expensive however there are certainly added bonuses to hiring the Pet Nanny. Pet owners with two or more pets will likely find my services less expensive than boarding options. Unlike most pet sitting services, I never charge extra fees for additional pets, holiday visits, last minute requests or administering medications. In addition, I give you the peace of mind of knowing that your pet will feel more secure in his or her own home, following their normal routine. Very importantly, there is no need to worry about your pet’s risk of exposure to parasites or diseases of other animals. For no extra charge, I can also provide security measures such as taking in the mail and adjusting the drapes and lights. I will also water your plants and take your garbage to the curb.
Q: Are you insured and bonded?
A: Yes. I am a professional, insured and bonded.
Q: Can you walk my dog every day at lunchtime while I am at work?
A: Sorry, but at this time I do not provide noon hour or mid-day dog walks.
Q: Could you do overnight stays at my house?
